Metallurgical processes

Metallurgical processes are batch or semi-batch by character. The main challenge of these processes is few and infrequent measurements. Also, the measurements available are often indirect and noisy. This requires a sound model structure to achieve good controller performance. The model must be adapted to on-line measurements, and this is achieved by applying the moving horizon estimator or the augmented, extended Kalman filter available in Cybernetica CENIT. Run-to-run model estimation and optimization can be done by Cybernetica ModelFit and Cybernetica BatchOptimize.

Typical benefits are less off-spec material, increased yield, reduced batch times, increased uptime, fewer unplanned stops, and more stable process conditions.
